Do you offer gift cards?

Gift cards are available for purchase in varying increments which range from $25 to $500. The link is located on the home page.

Physical gift cards are not mailed. Gift card codes are sent to the purchaser via email. The purchaser may then forward the email to the recipient of the gift card valid for redemption at OceanBox.com. Our gift cards do not expire and any unused balance will remain in the recipient's account balance.

Can I purchase a one time order?

Yes, you can purchase a one time order! Please follow the steps to checkout and select "one time purchase."

Why subscribe to OceanBox?

Subscribers receive free delivery and 15% off each OceanBox order. Choose from any desired frequency: weekly bi-weekly (every 2 weeks) or monthly. You can change the contents of your box at any time and still enjoy the savings!

How many meals will I get out of a box?

Each tray comes with one type of fish in two 5-6oz portions, for a total of 10-12oz of fish. Up to a maximum of 8 trays may be selected in Your OceanBox.

How is my order packed?

We pack your products carefully in our special breathable package that helps maintain the integrity of the seafood. Each portion is individually packed in minimally sized cardboard boxes made from 100 percent post-consumer products. Within each box are biodegradable and non-toxic gel packs to keep the fish as fresh as can be without freezing. In warmer months, we'll replace the gel packs with dry ice.

Where is the seafood from?

Our seafood selections come from a network of trusted supplies that adhere to the highest standards. The sourcing locations for all our seafood can be found within the description of each selection.

Is the fish frozen?

Our service delivers 15 types of fresh fish to residential customers and is never frozen at any time during the supply chain. Our specialty items are frozen and primarily include the shellfish.

Is it safe to eat seafood often?

Absolutely! The EPA and FDA recommend 2 to 3 servings per week. Seafood is full of nutrients such as Omega-3 acids that is beneficial to overall health.

Is the seafood sustainable?

If we could, we would make “sustainable” our middle name! Our suppliers must pass annual independent third-party audits to ensure that standards are being met. Rather than creating our own standards, we believe partnering with organizations who have well-established systems for evaluating fisheries is the most efficient and robust approach.

Is the fish wild or farmed?

Our wild caught fish are:
-red snapper,
-black sea bass,
-monk fish,
-cod,
-yellowfin tuna,
-colossal domestic shrimp,
-sea scallops and
-halibut.

Our farmed fish are:
-norwegian salmon,
-king salmon,
-canadian salmon,
-arctic char,
-bronzini,
-brook trout, and
-tilapia.

Is OceanBox fish sushi grade?

Yes! OceanBox fish is sushi and sashimi grade and safe to consume raw.

Is farmed fish bad for you?

No, quite the opposite! We only work with suppliers that meet our strict food safety and quality requirements. This means that our fish do not have any added colorants, chemicals, or other additives. In addition, we only purchase from suppliers that use an all natural, hormone-free, and antibiotic free diet (on farmed fish as wild fish do not have these issues).

I'm pregnant. Is it safe for me to consume seafood?

According to the EPA and FDA, pregnant women are encouraged to consume seafood for their child's growth and development, but should avoid fish high in mercury.

Can I recycle the packaging?

The box and insulated liners are made from cardboard which can be recycled with paper products. The gel ice packs may be thawed and emptied in the trash, while the plastic packaging may be recycled with #4 plastics.

What is your return/replacement policy?

Please contact our customer service team at 347-344-6184 or email us at support@oceanbox.com. Please hang on to product and packaging as our customer service team may request clear photos to process a replacement. We do not accept returns.

How do I manage my subscription?

Once you log into your account, you’ll have the option to modify your subscription, change your delivery date, or delivery address. Please send an email to support@oceanbox.com to cancel your subscription.

How do I change my subscription's shipping address?

Log into your account and click “View” with the associated subscription. Select address in the "your box" section. Enter the new shipping details and select save changes.

How do I change my default shipping address?

Log into your account and select shipping from the left panel. Enter the new shipping details and select save changes.

How do I change my default billing address?

Log into your account and select billing from the left panel. Enter the new billing details and select save changes.

How do I update my payment information?

Log into your account and select payment methods from the left panel. Click add payment method and enter the credit card details. Select add payment method to save changes. Choose default payment method.

How do I add a gift card code to my account?

Log into your account and select redeem gift cards from the left panel. Enter the gift card code and select add to account. Alternatively, the gift card code can be added upon checkout.

How do I change the subscription's delivery date?

Log into your account and click “View” with the associated subscription. Select "change delivery" and choose a new delivery date. Select "confirm change" to save your changes.

How do I change my password?

Log into your account and select account details from the left panel. Enter the current and new password it the fields and select save changes.

Help! I'm not receiving email notifications!

Please add "tech@oceanbox.com" to your contacts to receive order related emails. Check your spam or junk folder if emails do not arrive in your inbox.

How do I modify the subscription's upcoming box?

Log into your account and click “View” with the associated subscription. Select modify in the "your box" section. Add additional fish choices or remove any fish selections from the cart, then checkout.

How I modify or cancel an order that has already been placed?

Please contact customer service at support@oceanbox.com to request order changes.

Can I sign up for more than one subscription?

Yes, you may sign up for another OceanBox subscription by using the "place a new order" button from your OceanBox dashboard. Follow the steps to choose your fish and complete the checkout process.

Do you offer a referral program?

Our refer a friend program has not been implemented yet and we hope to activate it in the near future. In the meanwhile, please feel free to direct your friends to our website. They may sign up using promo code TRYUS15 at checkout and will receive 15% off their first OceanBox shipment.

How do I cancel my OceanBox subscription?

Please send an email to support@oceanbox.com to cancel your subscription, with the email address associated with your account.

How is my order shipped?

Our service delivers fresh fish to residential customers and is never frozen at any time during the supply chain. Shipment is properly lined with insulated liners, gel packs, ice packs and dry ice to ensure it is edible upon arrival.

When will my order ship?

Orders are shipped on Tuesday evenings.

Is tracking provided with my order?

Yes, UPS tracking is provided with every order.

Can I refrigerate or freeze the fish?

Yes, you can refrigerate the fish in the bottom part of the fridge up to 7 days. You may freeze the fish in its current tray and film protector, which is biodegradable. The film is designed to prevent cross contamination and freezer burn, keeping it fresh for months until you are ready to use it.

How do I defrost the fish?

The best way to thaw the fish is to place the trays in the bottom part of the fridge overnight. It is perfectly safe to refreeze fish once the proper safety protocols are being followed. If the fish is left outside in cold water to thaw out, we do not recommend refreezing as you will lose both taste and texture.
